The Big Battle Beatdown The Beatings Have Begun!

Race number two of the BBSR was just as exciting as the week before. The Circuit de Catalunya was the host for this week's Big Battle. The race looked like it would be decided in the first lap, but all of the drivers battled to the end to create some surprising results. Varaces and Hendrix drag raced down the front straight and the horsepower of Varaces twin turbo Taurus SHO beat the lightweight Lotus 2-Eleven to the first corner. BurHedgie was in close pursuit as he proved his Corvette C6 has just as much speed as the 2 front runners.  After a mistake took him of track, Varaces lost the lead to Hendrix and fell to 3rd behind Burr Hedgie.

In the middle of the pack, last weeks winner, PrimalKilla tried to weave his Lotus Exige through the pack of EsGee, AngryBillMurray and Citabria. He almost made it but the first corner of Catalunya is nowhere near wide enough for 4 cars, and PrimalKilla paied the price. He attempted to head into the pits at the end of the first lap but EsGee also wanted to have his Audi S5 services and the two collided at pit entrance, spinning PrimalKilla and further damaging EsGee's racer.

PrimalKilla would spend the rest of the race driving like a man possessed to regain his positions but only managed to reach 4th.

Up at the from of the pack, BurrHedgie and Varaces waged a tooth and nail battle for 2nd place that lasted nearly 8 laps. Varaces would try to out break Burr's Corvette, only to be out manuevered and left in the dust on the straight. Lap after lap of this forced the Taurus to change strategies and Varaces glued himself to the rear of Burr's car, putting pressure on Burr and waiting for him to make a mistake. This paid off as Burr overshot a corner allowing Varaces to slip into 2nd. 

All of this fighting left a clear track for Hendrix as he cruised to a win.

 The first race in the BBRS is over and it was a great day of racing. The long straight at the start of Mugello promised an eventful first turn, but the incidents were kept to a minimum as the drivers gave each other as much room as possible. Hendrix in his Lotus 2-eleven made a dash for the front but the rear end of EsGee's Audi S5 turned out to be too big of an obstacle to miss. Hendrix damaged the front end of his car and it would haunt him for the rest of the race. RolexDPRacer's BMW took an early lead but couldn't hold off the horsepower of Derrick's Taurus SHO.

Hendrix dived into the pits early to escape the traffic. By the end of the first lap, Burr's Corvette C6 had taken over the lead and EsGee moved up to third. The big story though, was PrimalKilla in his Lotus Exige who was steadily moving his way up through the pack.

Over the next few laps, the cars thinned out with Citabria's Escort Cosworth and AngryBillMurray's Delorean battlig in the back of the field, and a mistimed move by EsGee took him and Burr into the sand and out of the lead group. And the entire time, PrimalKilla's nimble Lotus steadily continues to gain ground, turn by turn. And by the end of the fifth lap, he's breathing down the bumper of Derrick's DPL bespoked Taurus. 

Hendrix's pit strategy paid off and by the time the frontrunners come out of the pits, he's in third spot. Derrick has a break in concentration and PrimalKilla pounces on the mistake to own the lead. The late race pitstops seem to work against most of the drivers as Esgee loses another position to Burr after comnig back onto the track with cold tires. Burr stays ahead of Esgee with sheer will and a lot of horsepower, but the combination fails him as he over shoots a turn and his Corvette barrels into the sand, until a wall stops his forward momentum. 

As the race wound down, Derrick and Hendrix swap positions tima and again for second place, but the damage Hendrix's small Lotus took in at the start robs him of top end speed. And top end speed is something that Derrick's Twin Turbo V6 has in spades. For the final 3 laps Hendrix would dance around the larger Taurus on the curves, only to be run down on Mugello's famously long straight. 

The close of the race showed PrimalKilla in the winner's circle after a fantastically consistent drive, DerrickH in second, and Hendrix standing in the final spot on the podium.

The Big Battle Racing Series is the premier destination for fun, competitive racing. Representatives from the finest gaming communities in the world gather to showcase speed, skill and sportsmanship. Using Forza Motorsport 5 for the Xbox 360, drivers from around the world will compete in 5 separate races for indidual glory, and the glory of their team. 

The details of the series are as follows (and subject to change)

5 races, over 5 different tracks

15 player maximum, if there are more than 16 driver, a qualifying even will be held with the top drivers gaining entry into the main race.

The top 3 drivers of each race will have their vehicles hadicapped for the following races. The maximum PI for the top 3 drivers will drop by 20, 15, and 10 units for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd respectively. These restrictions will be cumulative and carry on throughout the series.

Vehicle must be Class A or lower

Vehicles will be declared before the start of the series and the same vehicle will be used for each race. 

The race cars must have the name or logo of the team the driver is racing for along with their gamertag.

Each race will have 1 mandatory pitsop.

Damage will be set to simulation, and the driving line will be set to off. All other driving aids are up to the driver.

Points will be scored for each position, with the driver and team with the most overall points at the end of the series declared the champion.
